Spring Bees

First inspections of the year 🌼🌞 sun was shining...

#bees are looking great, 25 hives checked across 2 sites in Renfrewshire. Some running out of space and building into the roof space. Fresh spring '24 nectar coming in and plenty of #honey stores for spring build up.

At this time of year a hive averages around 20k bees, but grows rapidly to a peak of 60k by end of May. They'll be inspected every 6-10days until mid August.

I averaged 12mins per hive, first inspections always take a bit longer as I need to assess colony strength and strategy.

I've lost some fitness over the winter 🥴
